God Has Good Things in Store For You

“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” – Psalm 27:13 Sometimes it’s easy to question if God has good things in store for us. We look at what is going on in the world today and can’t help but wonder what He’s up to. Maybe you have experienced harsh conditions or hard trials that make you question God. These circumstances could involve your family, school, or the workplace. I remember “hating” some of my coaches growing up and it was a difficult time for me. I do recall one awesome coach, but he would still make us do really hard drills! But, coaches are meant to stretch and strengthen you physically and mentally. Similar to a coach, God has the best in store for you, but sometimes it takes awhile to realize it. God is in your corner!

Don’t Let Fear Stop You

“After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: ‘Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.’” – Genesis 15:1 Faith is not the absence of fear, it’s moving forward in spite of fear. The Lord never promises to take away our feelings of fright, but He assures us that He’ll be with us in the midst of them. When He tells us not to be afraid, He’s not asking us to pretend to be stronger than we are, He’s simply inviting us to trust His power as we move ahead. He Makes the Broken Brave

“Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” – Psalm 23:6 Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is brave five minutes longer.” Along these lines, when we think about courage, we tend to imagine that it means taking a big leap of faith or a giant step in the right direction, but when we’re working hard for something, progress happens gradually and sometimes imperceptibly. Though we may feel like we’re “spinning our wheels” and find ourselves tempted to give up before we get there, we’re usually closer to the finish line than we realize.
