Hour of Power Choir

Hour of Power Choir Tour: The Conclusion!

Our Hour of Power Choir is back in America, safe and sound. From what we’ve heard, they had a great time! We wanted to share some more incredible moments from their adventures and performances. On Monday, June 25th, they toured the city of Arnhem and enjoyed some delicious crepes with some of our Hour of Power Netherlands staff before heading to the Royal Grote Kerk in Apeldoorn for their first concert. Choir member, Joslyn, shares her thoughts on their trip to the Netherlands on day 5 and what she was most excited for during their first concert.   Following their adventures in Arnhem, they traveled to Apeldoorn to prepare for their first concert, which was held at the Royal Grote Kerk, a beautiful church! Abdiel Gonzalez shared his thoughts before they performed in the incredible venue.   We received a video of our beloved choir performing during this breathtaking evening.

Hour of Power Choir Tour Update

The Hour of Power Choir is about half-way through their tour in the Netherlands, and we have received some photos from our choir conductor, Dr. Messoloras. They arrived on Friday afternoon, and here is what Dr. Messoloras had to say upon their arrival: “We were greeted by friendly people from the ministry and taken on a beautiful dinner canal boat ride. We are SO excited to sing. Our first concert is just a few days away!” Here are some of the photos from their tour of Amsterdam and canal ride. On Saturday, Dr. Messoloras told us that they “sang for the elderly community housed within a Salvation Army unit, as well as toured downtown Amsterdam. Wonderful hospitality by our Netherlands ministry.” Our wonderful Hour of Power Netherlands family filmed part of an impromptu performance in the streets of downtown Amsterdam.   We hope you enjoy these updates!   The Hour of Power Choir has been a staple of this ministry since long before the television program, Hour of Power, was even an idea! They are embarking on their Beloved tour this Thursday, June 21st, and will perform in some of the most beautiful locations in the Netherlands during their 9-day tour. During their visit, they will take in many of the sights and sounds of Amsterdam will be performing impromptu concerts around the city and in stunning churches like the Roayl Grote Kerk in Apeldoorn, the Basiliek in Veenendaal, and a sold-out show at the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft. About the Music: “Let There Be Peace on Earth”

We are so blessed by our Voices of Hope Children’s Choir! Here they are performing their rendition of “Let There Be Peace on Earth,” accompanied by the Hour of Power Choir and Orchestra. This beautiful anthem was developed in 1955, with the words written by Jill Jackson and the melody by her husband, Sy Miller. Jill, after having experienced a sharp dip in her depression which led to her attempted — and failed — suicide, her heart then opened wide and willing to God’s unconditional love. She discovered from that moment on that she has a purpose, and her life and talent for music were valuable. A decade later, Sy and Jill went to a California retreat in the mountains where they met an array of young people with various socioeconomic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. This week-long retreat was dedicated to exploring friendship through education and conversation. Introducing their song

Honoring the Incomparable Don Neuen

It was our joy to recently honor our beloved choir conductor, Don Neuen, on his well-deserved retirement. During his over six decades of creating music, Don has built a legacy of choral excellence that resonates in Orange County and has extended across the globe. He has passionately conducted many choirs, performed in many incredible venues, and expertly taught and written curriculum for chorale graduate students at several prestigious universities. Don means so much to this ministry — he has helped to establish and maintain the Hour of Power’s world-renowned reputation for outstanding musical worship. But, more importantly, Don instilled a legacy of passion, kindness, loyalty, and friendship to this ministry. We are so thankful for him. We recently got to sit down with Don as he remembered his time at the Crystal Cathedral and Shepherd’s Grove, reflecting on the people and the memories that mean the world to him:
