Perfect Love Casts Out Fear

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” – 1 John 4:18 I’d like to revisit the topic of overcoming fear. Here’s an important truth, and this is what the word of God declares: “Perfect love casts out fear.” I want you to pay special attention to the phrase “casts out” in this passage. Many of you have been going to church your whole lives. When you read the Bible and encounter the phrase “casts out,” what comes to mind? For me, I immediately think of how Jesus casts out demons or evil spirits.
