For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”’ – Matthew 9:12 I want to have a church filled with sinners. There are plenty of churches filled with saints, but that’s not what I believe we’re called to look like. Jesus’ church is not meant to be a country club of righteous people who pat each other on the back, but a gathering of thirsty, weary souls, yearning for Living Water. It’s a community of broken people who want to be better, who work and strive toward sanctification, righteousness and Godliness, but who in the end, love one another. “Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:12 Today, I want to talk about the importance of being at peace with your imperfections. We need to realize that we don’t have to prove ourselves. Instead, we should walk humbly before the Lord. Let us desire a life that pleases God rather than worrying about pleasing other people. Christians should serve others and should love others, but people-pleasing is death. When we’ve been Christians for a while, it’s so easy to think that we have to manage our reputation.  Today the word from the Lord is that you can let that go.
