“However, as it is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’— the things God has prepared for those who love him.” – 1 Corinthians 2:9 The dictionary defines preparation as “the action or process of making ready or being made ready for use.” Though many of us don’t give a lot of thought to preparation in our 21st century world, in the Bible — especially the Old Testament — it’s a very common theme. The Jews gave time and attention to preparing their bodies, minds, and hearts for both worship and war. And while our culture is quite different now than it was then, I believe it behooves us to embrace the value and power of preparation today.
