Speaking Is Doing

“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” – 1 John 3:18 As we learn to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, this becomes a gateway to being faithful doers of the Word of God. And this was the biggest surprise: When he’s talking about doers of the word in this context, this could include everything, but he’s also talking about intentional speech and keeping a tight rein on your tongue. So here’s what I journaled concerning this: Hearing the Word of God is not doing the Word, but speaking the Word is.  Speaking the word of God IS doing the word of God. Isn’t that interesting?
