The Anointing of Healing

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” – James 5:14 Yesterday, we saw that the Holy Spirit’s anointing on our lives makes us a source of wisdom and light to others. Today, I want to talk about yet another type of authority we receive in our divine consecration, and that is healing. Just as the oil used in ancient anointing rituals had power to hasten recovery and restore health, so our lives as Christians are set apart to be a soothing salve on the world’s wounds.
