The Five-Second Rule

“Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.” – Proverbs 30:8 Apply the five-second rule. When I was a kid we had what was called the five-second rule, and it applied to food that was dropped on the ground. If we accidentally let a piece of candy or fruit slip out of our hands and onto the floor, we quickly picked it up and exclaimed the five-second rule. This meant that if we acted fast enough to retrieve the food before five seconds was up, it was still good to eat. Likewise, I encourage you to develop an adult version of the five-second rule as it pertains to telling the truth.
