The Urge To Live by Faith

“For we live by faith, not by sight.” – 2 Corinthians 5:7 Yesterday I challenged you to take a risk for God! My dad inspired me to learn to surf even though I was afraid. He continued to encourage me in a very positive way. In those moments with our parents, we’d be frustrated because we didn’t know how, whether learning to cook, trying a new sport, or riding a bike. There are memories we have with our parents, some of them good, but not all of them. As I was thinking about this, it occurred to me that maybe today is a good day to forgive your parents. Maybe your parents’ pressure felt oppressive to you. We can consider that our parents were once children themselves. Perhaps they had hard parents who taught them that way, or they faced war.
