We Create and We Care

“For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.” – Romans 8:20,21 I shared yesterday that you were made to create and to care for the world around you and God’s creation. Do you remember what God’s first mandate to humanity was in the Bible? In Hebrew, he said, you shall abad and shamar. Those are curious words. Abad means either to work, to process, to form or create, to work with your hands. As for shamar, it means protecting or caring for or even curating God’s creation.
