“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
– Luke 11:1
![]() We ought to come boldly before God’s throne, and ask. God can say no. He has the power to do whatever He wants. But you’re His kid, and He likes to do things for His children. And that’s important. In Luke Chapter 11, it says this that one day Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John had taught his disciples.” This happens a lot. His disciples say Lord, “Teach us to pray.” Why do you think they ask Him? Well first, even though He was the Son of God, Jesus prayed. That’s important. It doesn’t matter where you are, how long you’ve been a Christian, never stop praying. Prayer should to be an important part of your life. When the disciples saw Jesus pray, they saw something more than just prayer. They must have seen some kind of glory or power in Him. They also saw the results of His prayer and they wanted those same kind of results in their prayer. |
Prayer
Teach me how to pray, Lord. Give me wisdom and give me power.
Reflection
How can you seek God when learning how to pray?

I guess they didn’t know Jesus was talking with his Father through prayer, as that’s where Jesus’ power comes from.
The Holy Spirit is our teacher now. In Jesus Name.
