He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.

Proverbs 10:5

Within the concept of sowing and reaping, it’s important to understand the need to invest wisely in your finances. Many people overspend; they don’t just use 100% of their money; they often spend 110%. Some might think, “I don’t need to worry; I’ll just win the lottery” or “I’ll get lucky with a lawsuit.” Instead, you need to invest in yourself and enhance your value in the marketplace. Many people also gamble with their thoughts, believing that they can simply pray a prayer at the end of their life and gain eternal peace. Instead, strive to invest in a full and rich life by continuously seeking God with all your heart.

First, you need to plan. Next, you have to sow some seeds. After that, you must tend to the crops during the summer. You’ve planted these seeds, and now they’re starting to grow. Your relationships are improving, your business is expanding, your church is seeing an increase in attendance, and you’re beginning to achieve more and reach new goals. However, you’re not quite there yet. This is the point when weeds and pests may come around, trying to damage your crop.

Friend, you need to tend to your crop by combating challenges and protecting what’s important to you. The difficulties are present, and we all know it. Gardening is tough; I’ve never succeeded without hiring some help. I want to emphasize that you will need support. There’s an old African proverb that says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go with friends.” You’ll need friends and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. To achieve what God has placed on your heart, a strong team is essential!

Prayer

Holy Spirit, guide me on how to invest in myself and increase my value in the marketplace by improving and growing my relationships.

Reflection

How do you work with the Holy Spirit to face challenges and protect what is important to you?
