“I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.”
-Ephesians 1:16
Let me give you a hint. If you say thank you every single day, others are going to love it. Nobody’s going to be thinking, “My husband is just too thankful about what I do for him.” “My boss constantly thanks me. I wish he’d get off my case.” Nobody says that. That’s because when somebody says thank you, he or she is saying, “What you do has value, you matter to me, you have dignity, and I want to say that I love and appreciate you.”
Saying thank you says a lot.
Thankful people are happier people because thankful people invite loyalty and generosity, and thankful people know how to love others. Thankful people make the world a better place. All of us have things to be thankful for and all of us have things to be angry about. Focus on the things that you have to be thankful for. Can I get an amen?
PRAYER: Dear Lord, living in your world, how can I not be thankful? You have blessed my life with so much, especially the people around me. Help me to remember to be openly thankful to others and be your light in their lives. Amen.
REFLECTION: How do you show your appreciation to others?
