“As I looked, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.”
– Daniel 7:9
![]() Yesterday, we discussed the world’s system and how Satan is waging war all around us in the kingdoms of the earth. Today, I want to talk about the good news we can cling to — that there is One greater than the devil! Further along in his vision in Daniel 7, the prophet, after seeing four hideous, terrifying, and powerful beasts, speaks of a throne of fire being set in place and the Ancient of Days ascending it to execute judgment. Interestingly, the Lord is often represented by fire in the Old Testament because the heat of flames purifies and their presence consumes. Likewise, God Almighty is the sole Deity with enough authority to cleanse Creation from the enemy’s perversion and destroy him once and for all. Though the accuser has been granted temporary dominion on this planet, he is already defeated, and each passing day brings him closer to his demise. Jehovah’s seat is in place, and it’s only a matter of time before our adversary must pay for the destruction he’s caused. In fact, this truth should serve as a source of hope for us now. While evil is gaining ground as we inch closer to the fulfillment of time, we needn’t despair over darkness. Rather, we can resolve to walk boldly in the light of Christ and take authority over the spirits of fear, chaos, and confusion that surround us. Our God reigns eternal, and as His ambassadors, we are called to stand fast in the victory He’s secured! My friend, the Ancient of Days invites you to reign with Him, even in difficult seasons. Though the power of evil seeks to obscure your view of His goodness, His throne is immovable, and your soul is eternally seated with Him in the heavens. This means that no matter how uncertain or scary things look, you are held fast by God’s hand, and He is working through you to bring a holy fire to the world — one that can displace darkness and help others live in freedom! |
Prayer
Heavenly Father, you are the Ancient of Days, and I thank you for equipping me to stand fast in your eternal victory.
