The Beginning of the Beginning

“The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God,”

– Mark 1:1

Merry Christmas! What a joy it is to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus! Isn’t this a fascinating time of year? In addition to Christmas, we are also nearing the end of the year. Many people don’t work the week between Christmas and New Year’s, so it ends up being a time of reflection.

Some of us will feel proud and happy as we look back on the past year, and some of us won’t. But that’s alright because we have good years and bad years. The one thing we can agree on during this season is the fact that we serve a forgiving God. How many times will He forgive us? He forgives us a million times a million times a million. There is no limit to God’s grace, love, and mercy for you! And that’s the meaning behind Jesus’ birth. For the enemy, it was the beginning of the end! For me and for you, it was the beginning of the beginning! When Jesus was born, something amazing happened. History was broken like a twig between A.D. and B.C. and forever humankind would measure time based on the most important event in history: The time when Jesus was injected into the world like anti-venom is injected into someone who has been bitten by a rattlesnake. Rapidly, things began to change and light began to strike against the darkness!

Friend, the good news of Christmas is that Christ was born, crucified, and raised from the dead, making us holy, forgiven, and entirely new creatures. In God’s world, you cannot be at peace if you’re not at peace with Him. This Christmas day is the perfect time to receive Christ into your heart. He loves you, and I’m confident your best days are ahead of you!

Jesus, bring your light into all the dark places in my life.

The graciousness, mercy, and love of God have no limits for you. Do you acknowledge that?
