The Bible’s Promises Are True

“For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.”

– 2 Corinthians 1:20

For many years, people believed running a mile in under four minutes was impossible. The idea persisted that it was simply beyond human capability—no one could achieve it. To put it in perspective, most people can’t maintain a four-minute-mile pace for even 10 seconds; for many, it would feel like an all-out sprint. The consensus was firm: running a mile in four minutes just could not be done. That is, until the 1950s, when a man named Roger Bannister accomplished the feat!

He ran the mile in 3:59.4. Remarkably, soon after Bannister broke the barrier, many other runners also ran sub-four-minute miles. So, what changed? Did the human body suddenly evolve? Did the running tracks improve? Was the length of a mile shortened? What changed was knowledge. Before Bannister’s achievement, the four-minute mile was a matter of speculation. Afterward, it became a proven reality. Instead of only believing it might be possible, runners now had proof that it could be done.

My friend, just as the four-minute mile became possible once people believed, you need to believe that the Bible’s promises are true for you. Believe what God has spoken: you are the head and not the tail; God can heal your disease, help you succeed, open doors for you, set things right, heal your family, forgive your sins, and break every chain in your life. It all begins with belief—believing that it can and will happen. Declare God’s word aloud, for faith pleases Him. Imagine the joy when the Lord looks upon you and says, “I will bless that woman. I will bless that man.” Why? Because of their faith.

Prayer

  1. The hymn – “Standing on the Promises of God.” When our nation recognizes this we will cease attempting to stand on government promises.

  2. Thank you for your daily inspiration. One of my favorite quotes: It is not BELIEVING that God can; but KNOWING that He will.
May God continue to bless your ministry.
