“Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, …”
– Proverbs 8:10
![]() It is absolutely possible for your life to be better than it is right now. You don’t need to worry about how sick you are. You don’t need to worry about how old you are, where you’re from, or what family you came from. It doesn’t even matter what the balance in your bank account is. If you desire change, you can create a more fulfilling life right now if you invite Christ into your heart. Here’s a big mistake a lot of us make: We think that if we attend a better school, get a better boss, live in a bigger home, get a better spouse or better children, then our lives will be better. Folks, your life gets better when you get better. People think that things will improve when we get the “right” political affiliation in office. Politicians do not improve your life, but they can sometimes make it worse. We also make statements like, “If I lived in Texas instead of California where everything is so expensive, then my life would be better.” Moving to Texas won’t improve your life! You are the only thing that can improve your life. Friend, there will always be changes in your world. And yes, there are times when things get better and there are times when things get worse, but you cannot control that. It is not possible to change the universe, but you do have the power to change your own universe; your own sphere of influence. This is how you can improve your life. The choice is up to you to commit your life to becoming the person you were born to be. Continue to follow the ways of Jesus. You can make that decision today. The only thing that stands in the way of that is you. |
Prayer
Father, help me follow Jesus’ ways and improve my life.
