The Cross Calls All of Us

“When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.”

– Colossians 2:13-14

I encourage you today to lean in and listen to what the Lord has to say to you. As a consequence of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, the weak are made powerful, and the powerful are made weak. The cross calls all of us who are in need of God, and that includes each and every one of us! We just don’t need a little of God, we need all of Him! Real wisdom and growth begin at this point. All the money in the world, the best vacations, or all the right people in your life are all worthless if you don’t receive the wisdom that beholds Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.

We can all draw strength from the cross. We can draw power from the cross whether we are estranged from God or have accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior. We can draw wisdom whether we are sick, have sinned, or simply need help. A person who believes in Jesus is a thousand steps ahead of the smartest guy who says he doesn’t need any religion. This is the power of the cross.

Friend, as a result of this, we are able to come with our lives before God with an empty cup rather than a full cup. It becomes your privilege to say to the Lord that whatever you want from your life is yours. The power of the cross can result in a fresh beginning!

Jesus, show me how to draw strength from the cross. I need all of you, not just a little.

Do you present your life to God as an empty cup upon which it can be filled?
