“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.”
– Psalm 139:7,8
To those of you feeling overwhelmed by this unexpected time of crisis in our country and in the world, I simply want to say that you will get through it. You are descended from tough stock and the Lord your God was and is a Mighty Warrior. As one made in His image, He has equipped you with the strength of mind, faith, and character to emerge from this pandemic with a renewed vision and increased faith. To that end, I encourage you to see the divine opportunity in a change of plans. Though most of us are unsettled in this season, and rightfully so, there’s a gift in the unexpected. Yes, there is a level of pain and adjustment required, but on the other side is a chance to slow down and invite the Holy Spirit into your heart and mind in a fresh way. Take inventory of your priorities, hopes, goals, and dreams, and remember that planning and preparation always precede a harvest. More importantly, cultivate a heart of gratitude for each day of life you are blessed to enjoy.
My friend, rather than hunkering down in fear, take this time to build your faith! Nothing catches God by surprise and He has the ability to transform any trouble or tempest into a testimony. Embrace His Spirit and commit your life to His care and keeping. Praise Him, pray to Him, meditate on His truth, and purposefully thank Him for the good gifts that you enjoy. You are loved beyond your ability to comprehend and your Savior is beckoning you to stand in His presence and call upon His power, right now and always!
Jesus, I give you my life afresh today. Show me the divine opportunity in my change of plans.
How can you draw closer to God in this time of uncertainty?
