“After he had said this, he went on to tell them, ‘Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.’ His disciples replied, ‘Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.’ Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep. So then he told them plainly, ‘Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.’”

– John 11:11-15

God is a God of what Tolkien called eucatastrophe; in other words, He’s an eleventh hour God. When you think everything is falling in around you, He will bring victory at the last minute. Maybe you’re sick and you don’t know how you’re going to get well, or maybe you feel like your marriage is caving in; don’t lose hope because God loves to do the miraculous, just in the nick of time! Like raising Lazarus from the dead even though He could have healed him while he was still alive, it can be annoying when Jesus acts last-minute, but an undying faith in the midst of uncertainty pleases Him.

I remember when I had just graduated from high school and God put it on my heart to take a missions trip to Russia to visit a camp for orphans. The cost of the trip was $3,700, but to me, it may as well have been a bazillion dollars — it sounded impossible. To make it worse, I only had three weeks to raise the money. I said, “Lord, if this is from you, I’m just going to take the first step and get out of the boat. I’m simply going to try.” After that, I started asking people in my church for money, but nobody gave me anything. Then I began working — washing cars, laying railroad ties, and anything else I could find to do, but I was still nowhere near having the full amount. With only $67 in my pocket, I prayed again, and the next day, I got an envelope in the mail from someone I didn’t even know with a check for $300 in it. As the days went on, I got more and more of these envelopes with my name on them with checks inside, and I was praising God because to me, they were like manna from Heaven. It turns out, my mom had sent graduation announcements to about 500 people, but she didn’t tell me. When all was said and done, I ended up getting about $4,000 from people all over the world in this eucatastrophe event, and it was a sign for me.

This is how God does things, my friend. If you have the vision, He has the power and the resources. His timing isn’t always your timing, but you can listen, trust and remember that He’s calling you to do great things, in Jesus’ Name!

Prayer

Jesus, thank you for faithfully providing for me, even when it’s last minute. I trust you to carry out your call on my life.

  1. My 11th hour came when my 18 year old daughter was diagnosed with a “mass” growing behind her eyes putting pressure on the nerves that caused her to lose her sight. The neurosurgeons didn’t know if it was a mass of “gunk” or a tumor. We drove three hours to a hospital where one of the best neurosurgeons was going to work with a team and try to remove the mass. The day she was being taken to the first surgery, it hit me that I, as her mom, couldn’t put a bandaid on the boo boo and make it better. After she was taken away, it hit me very hard that she could die and I was all alone, 2000 miles from my family. As I cried sitting in my car, I looked up at the sky and realized I truly wasn’t alone. I prayed and turned my daughter’s life over to God. Two 10+ hour surgeries in a four day period and she again could see the clock on the wall! She suffered a small amount of permanent loss in her left peripheral vision, but she can see, read, and drive again! My faith has never been stronger!!

    1. wow that was awesome, it gets me to ask sometimes, WHERE ON EARTH IS THIS FAITH? THE 11th HOUR FAITH, I AM PRAYING THAT IT WORKS FOR MY DAD WHO IS THREATENED THAT HE WILL LOOSE HIS JOB

  2. I received my 11th hour miracle last month. Or was getting close to the deadline for the payment of my professional course’s exam fees, which was also the last stage of the exam.

I still have about 5-digits to complete the fees. Then, my older sister called to inquire if I’ve been able to pray up. God eventually used her to deliver my 11th hour miracle (which was complete payment of my fees)

God is Everly faithful…. Even if our faith is as tiny as the mustard seed.

  8. Hello Friends,

As I searched Google for what I remembered as the 11th hour of God, I came across this article. I’m in need of God now. I have recently graduated from seminary and I just signed a lease to an new apartment. I have been so excited because having my own space will allow me to work on my ministry as a new minister. A few days ago, my friend/Freelance client cancelled my work contract. She got nervous and said that she needed to allocate her money elsewhere, instead of hiring me to work with her. We are dear friends, and I was devastated to hear this. We both felt a divine call to work together. Now, I am supposed to move into my apartment in 10 days, and I need God to speak to her heart to reverse this decision. I cannot afford this apartment without this job, and I will be in contacting trouble if I don’t move in. Will you pray for me? Also, pray for my new Ministry. You can find me on YouTube (Tiffany Dorese Winfree). Thank you for listening to my heart cry friends

We’re excited for you as you answer His call to be in ministry! God loves you and so do we!
