Yesterday, I emphasized the importance of putting on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand. After you’ve done everything to stand firm, there are six pieces of armor to sustain you: the belt of truth buckled around your waist, the breastplate of righteousness, your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit—which is the word of God.

So, what are we learning here? There is an ongoing fight in the world around us, one that has visible, physical, and tangible consequences. The confusing part is that when we witness events in the physical world, we often assume they are merely physical in nature—but in reality, they are spiritual. There’s a battle between two kings: Jesus Christ and the enemy. So, what is this battle truly about? Between Satan and God, what is at stake?

My friend, if one side wins, what do they gain? What are they truly fighting for? The answer is clear: the battle is for your soul. If God wins, He claims your soul. If Satan wins, he claims your soul. This is a fight over life and death—your life or your death. One wants to destroy you, while the other wants to save you. One seeks your downfall, while the other desires your victory. Take heart and remember, you are not alone in this battle. With God’s armor and His steadfast love, you have the strength to overcome any challenge.
