“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
– 2 Corinthians 5:21
![]() In simple terms, the Gospel is God’s plan for you to trade places with His Son. The beloved Son of God became, in a way, sin, so that you will become righteous. When you receive and embrace the love of God as found in the Word of God, you understand this foundation. When the Apostle Paul spoke of Jesus, he said, “He who knew no sin became sin so that you could be called the righteousness of God.” In other words, we can say for sure that if this beloved son of God was sent to the cross for me, He loves me as much as He loves Jesus. Now, if you really listen to what those words truly mean in your heart, you will feel moved emotionally. The beloved Son of God, Jesus Christ, is loved at the same level as you are loved by God. He would not have sent Him to die for us if this was not the case. We can all say amen to this! Christ would not have given his life for you if it were not true. Friend, there is so much power in the sacrifice of Jesus. It is for this reason that the Gospel is good news. So right where you are today, with all the challenges you are going through, God loves you. Stand boldly before God’s throne and say to yourself, “Yes, I am the beloved child of God.” As you look into the mirror, be assured that you are His beloved and that He is thankful to have you as one of His children. |
Prayer
Father, thank you that the righteousness of God has been declared to me because of Jesus!
