I’ve said many times that the difference between Christianity and every other major religion is grace, or God’s unmerited favor. Though most world belief systems offer a series of prescribed steps you must take and rules you must follow to earn the acceptance of the Lord, faith in Jesus Christ asserts that while you were still a sinner, He died for you. In other words, you were seen and loved even before you “got your act together.” You were saved in a helpless and messy condition and changes in your life come as a response to what God did for you out of the abundance of His love. Though this may seem elementary, my point in reminding you of it today is to encourage you to be kind to yourself in this trying season of pandemic. For many of us, the present circumstances have been stretching, frustrating, and fearful, and it’s important to give ourselves a daily measure of the grace that Jesus has already lavished upon us. My friend, it’s okay to have hard days, and even if that means crying, screaming, or shaking your fists at God, He is secure enough to take it. You have a Savior who can sympathize with your weaknesses because He was mortal Himself, and He understands the challenges of being human and navigating in a fallen world. In this uncertain time, He offers grace upon grace as He whispers to your heart that you are loved more than you can fathom. Though you may be troubled, Jesus invites you to sit in the quiet comfort of His presence and receive the blessed assurance that He is working to help, heal, and restore, while He brings His Kingdom to earth through you. |
Prayer
I am grateful, Jesus, that you offer me grace, comfort, and peace in this trying time. I will rest in you today.

In this horrible and trying time with the Covid-19 pandemic still hovering all over us
I need to be a little more patient .It is very hard to wait until everything gets back to normal.I miss being in St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church doing my lector duties once every month.And playing Bingo every Thursday evening and also singing karaoke every first and third Saturday at our Miami Elks Lodge 948.But I know it is hard to follow social distancing regulations.I hope and pray that all of you at Shepherd’sGrove at Irvine Presbyterian Church continue to stay safe and healthy.
And to Pastor Bobby Schuller and his beautiful family may they continue to follow the social distancing guidelines. And also to the Hour of Power Choir and Orchestra
along with the guest soloists and the Voices of Hope Children’s Choir that they may
continue to bless all of us with their glorious music and singing.As always I remain

I appreciate the daily one-minute devotionals and the encouragement found in each one. When I first started watching “The Hour of Power,” I was attending a church with a membership of people in their 90s, still active, alert, and strong. The church was struggling to stay open, and I was able to help by serving as the pianist for ten years. However, it was encouraging for me to tune in to “The Hour of Power” and see a young pastor and his wife, the Schullers, serving in the ministry and reaching out with love and compassion toward others. It had been said much of Christianity would die out once the baby-boomers are gone, but the Schullers and their young staff are examples of the future of Christianity, remaining alive and well and reaching people for Christ.
I’m a new listener to Hour of Power also receiving Daily Devotionals.
Have been a blessed christian for 45 years, but just understanding about
a Fathers love. Am being spiritually exalted afresh daily. Thank you,Karen
