“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
– 2 Timothy 4:7
![]() There’s no doubt that life is a fight at times. As the Apostle Paul affirmed toward the end of his days, he fought the good fight and he finished the race; but most importantly, he kept the faith. Though it’s not the most pleasant thought to embrace, walking hand-in-hand with the Savior means looking at your existence as a set of various resistance training exercises designed to stretch you so that you become stronger. Enter the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020: it’s unprecedented, it’s scary, and it’s painful, but it’s also an opportunity to be transformed into the image of Jesus. He wanted you to be alive at this time in history so you could be strengthened in it and through it. In fact, He is using these uncertain days to crystalize your priorities and build your muscle of trust. Even better, He is cheering you on from the finish line and urging you to keep moving forward, in spite of the climb being steep. My friend, my word for you today is keep fighting the good fight of faith! Even if you’re feeling discouraged and wondering if you’ll be able to go on, do not lose heart. When Satan seems to be closing in on you with oppression and discouragement, resist him by declaring God’s truth over your life, praising the glory of His Name, and proactively spreading His love and hope to your neighbor through small acts of kindness. Yes, you are in a battle, but He chose you to be His warrior before the beginning of the world. You are chosen, set apart, and perfectly equipped to endure this time in history and emerge stronger than ever! |
Prayer
I know that I’m in a fight today, Jesus, but I embrace the battle knowing that you are rooting for me to finish strong.
Reflection
How can you fight the good fight of faith today?
