Yesterday, I shared that God’s love has many dimensions, and Christ’s love is wide and deep. We will focus today on His deep love for us. He knows us and loves us exactly as we are. It’s fair to say that many people don’t understand how to walk in deep love. A great way to look at your relationships is to examine how a gardener looks at a garden. Gardening requires constant effort and diligence. You must take care of it every day by pulling weeds, feeding and watering it, and making sure that it gets enough sunlight. Proper care is essential for a garden! It would be so rewarding for you to look at your personal relationships in this way.
You can show your spouse or best friends that you care about them by showing them that they are safe with you. Make it possible for them to be exactly who they want to be. It’s important for every relationship to have rituals, and men are actually really good at this. For example, a date night or breakfast with your children or good friends every week is so important! Get together once a month to watch sports, walk, pray, or even attend church together on Sunday.
These rituals are influential, my friend. Most importantly, say yes to the people you truly care about when they invite you to something. As a teen, my father would deliberately drop everything to join in what I was excited about. You and I can share this type of deep love as it reflects Christ’s heart.
