“These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.”
– 1 Corinthins 10:11
![]() Here’s a good first principle in seeking wisdom: The old stuff is the best stuff! As I get older, I realize this more and more. I remember being in my 20s and thinking that I knew everything. Consider that we have about 7,000 years of recorded history, and our biological ancestors faced way more challenges than us. You’d be amazed if you consider what many people had to deal with in history until the 1950s. Many experienced trauma, raiders, war, pestilence, plague, and the black death twice in Europe. It was incredible the things they had to endure and face, and we are the result of those men and women who endured all of that to get you where you are today. We are the posterity of those who have survived thousands of harsh winters, wars, and plagues. It was those who made it to victory who left behind tomes, pages, books and records showing us how to do it. Yes, science is amazing and makes so much possible. It can give you knowledge, but it cannot give you wisdom. Experience is the basis of wisdom, and we can learn that from our ancestors! Friend, the best wisdom is old wisdom, and the best and oldest wisdom is the Word of God. The Word of God existed before human history was around. The Word of God will endure longer than every nation, flag, language, and culture! The Bible, which is basically a library, is something we should treasure. Think of the people who would have given so much to get one page of the Bible, yet we can read it freely in a hundred different translations. God’s Word is wisdom, and this is the wisdom of the Gospel!

Satan blocks me from reading The Word Of God. The Word Of God has been tampered with by the authors. Contradictions, false scripture. You are not addressing my last comment. tom
Amen Bobby! We were here without power for 5 days. I’m 80 and it got difficult. Eventually we hooked up a generator but until then the cold was piercing. In the dark I remembered the Bible passages I’ve memorized. “You are mine. I have summoned you by name… Be not afraid.” Be not afraid! Immediately peace drifted over me and I was comforted. Yes it’s all there in God’s word. Young people ….Take the time to study and hear His voice! It’s ancient wisdom!
Amen!
