“When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, ‘Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?’ ‘Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,’ Elisha replied.”

 You can be so committed to Christ and have such a strong relationship with Him that nothing could separate you—neither heaven nor earth! It’s truly possible to cling to the Lord in this way. We express our devotion by singing songs, and saying things like, “Oh Lord, I lay my life down for You, I’d do anything for You, I’d give it all for You.” Yet, sometimes we hesitate to tithe or attend church. We might declare, “I’ll lay down my life for You,” but then find ourselves too busy to follow through. I’m not saying this to judge you; think of me as a personal trainer. I’m here to remind you—not to induce guilt, but to show you the rewards that are available if you’re willing to commit.
Have you considered whether you are willing to pay the price, take the necessary actions, or be different from your neighbor? If you are ready to commit your life to God, all the double portion blessings are available to you. Many of you might think these blessings are only for others, but the truth is, they are meant for you as well. So, open your heart to receive this blessing today! Don’t miss out on the spirit, the power, or the purpose of God that awaits you. Friend, be encouraged that a double portion blessing is available to you. Elisha received this double portion of his spirit when he picked up Elijah’s mantle. This refers to the miracle-working power Elisha had—he performed 14 miracles, twice as many as Elijah’s seven. Feel free to reach out to God with all your heart and ask for everything you need to fulfill your purpose. |

Even though I have been a Christian for decades, I have never considered that a double portion is available to or even meant for me. I opened my heart to receive this teaching. But at the same time, I’m wondering why this is news for me after all this time. For some reason, I had assumed that a double portion was meant only for Elisha. I have never been invited to put my own name in that story. But it’s true, that in Christ it’s meant for me as well. Thank you.But
