“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”

– Daniel 7:13,14

For the past couple of days, we’ve seen that the system of the world is controlled by Satan, and that while he appears to have unlimited power, the duration of his dominion is actually limited. The Ancient of Days is sovereign over his fate, and it’s only a matter of time before his rule comes to an end. This is because the One who ascended the throne next to the Almighty — in Daniel’s vision simply called the Son of Man — was given power and authority over every prince and nation on earth. By the blood He shed on the cross and the victory He secured in His resurrection, Jesus Christ established an everlasting Kingdom, and if we’ve received Him as our Lord, He has made us part of it. Therefore, with His Spirit as our constant companion, we have the ability to overcome evil with good on a planet that is totally infected by sin. In Him, we’re given strength to stand, shine, and bear fruit, even in the midst of pain, trouble, and persecution. Because He is with us, not only is our future certain, but we’re empowered to overcome darkness right now. As we claim the fullness of our redemption, we bring our Savior’s grace and glory to earth in a way that helps, blesses, and inspires others!

My friend, take heart and don’t be discouraged! The Son of Man, who lives inside of you, is greater than the one who is in the world. Though the battle around you rages, because of Jesus, you are a victor, an overcomer, and a conqueror. You are filled with the Holy Spirit, and that means you can take authority over every sin, stronghold, or attack that befalls you and live a life of peace and triumph. Despite swimming upstream in a culture where darkness disguises as light, you are perfectly equipped to stand fast in His living hope!

Jesus, thank you for giving me everything I need to be Godly in an ungodly world.

How can you rely on the Son of Man’s victorious power, despite battling temptation?
