“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

– Matthew 10:29-31

Very often we talk about the covenant God made with us strictly in the context of Heaven, and that’s important, but it’s also important to remember that in Jewish culture, to be blessed is more than where we go when we die. You can’t deny that when you read the Torah. For instance, Deuteronomy 28 says, “your kneading baskets will be filled, and your crops will grow.”

God cares about your body and He cares about your relationships. He cares about your life, and He cares about what you’re doing. He cares about every aspect of your life. While we need to be careful about leaning too far into prosperity, it’s easy to go the other way and think that God isn’t interested in the little things. The reality is that He cares because He’s your Father. In the same way I care about everything in my kid’s lives, He is concerned even more about you: about your job, your health, your marriage and your struggles. His good and perfect love extends to every area of your life!
