“’For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord.”
-Isaiah 55:8

To help you live a wondrous life in the kingdom of God, we must learn the Four Movements of the Wondrous Life. The third is to move from procrastinating to making a decision.

Many of us have decisions that we’ve needed to make for a long time, but we haven’t made those decisions. God is calling you, today, to make a decision. Stop waiting to do the next right thing. Stop waiting.

There is absolutely a time for patience, and a time for wisdom, and a time for reflection. But procrastinating is not patience. Procrastinating is putting off something you know you should do because you’re afraid or you’re dreading doing that thing. Patience is wisdom in making a decision and there is a huge difference. I think that procrastinating is one of the biggest destroyers of joy in the world today.

Many of us have that decision, that choice, that fork in the road. We have to go left or right, but you haven’t made that decision. Today, God is calling you. Make that choice. Choose now.

(On Monday: Moving from uncertainty to boldness.)

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to make that difficult decision and do it with assurance. Amen.

Reflection: What decision have you hesitant to make?
