“Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: ‘I have seen the Lord!’”
-John 20:18a

Have hope in the resurrection. We serve a God who does not let his children die. He will save you. He will save us all and he will save this world.

Christ believed that with him in his very body, he brought the kingdom of God. His intention was that this world, which he created, would be transformed like in his prayer where he said, “thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” But if we are afraid of death, sickness, and aging, and are trapped in selfishness, that world will not come to pass for you and for me.

This is good news for everybody except for those who reject it, and some will. Some will say, “That life is not for me. I cannot find God.” But, all of us will come to a place where we examine this life and will say it was so short, it was so brief, and now I’m really beginning my life that goes on forever based on how I began it.

So, how will you lead your life? Will you trust in Jesus and in his resurrection? Will you believe that underneath all of this there is something deeper, eternal, and spiritual?

Prayer: Dear Lord, I do not fear death for you will be with me – here and in eternity. Amen.

Reflection: Do you fear death? Why or why not?
