“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
-Colossians 3:17
Did you know that often the reason we hate our work is that we feel like a victim? We can feel trapped and very often we are.
If this describes you, I want to say to you what the Apostle Paul said to some first-century Christians who were slaves. Whatever you do, I know it’s hard, I know you’re tired, I know you’re frustrated, but change the way you view your job and the way you view your world. Do your work for the Lord and do it with all your heart. Work for the Lord and you’ll see that your life will become life giving.
You can’t do anything for the Lord and it not give you life. Amen? What a great gift he gave the slaves because he gave them a choice to choose to work for God and not for earthly masters, so they did it for the Lord. We have been given the same choice. Chose to work for the Lord.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I choose to work always and only for you. Each day’s work will be my offering to you as you guide me to bless others. Amen.
Reflection: How is your work life giving, to yourself and to others?
