“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
– Galatians 6:9
![]() Just because God has spoken a blessing over your life doesn’t mean that there won’t be suffering in between when it was spoken and when it will be fulfilled. I know that for me, every victory in my life came when the dream was put in my heart. But as I made the first step towards that dream, there would be a deep valley before a victory. It started with a dream and blessing spoken over my life, followed by suffering, pain, sleepless nights, hard work, failure, failure, failure, failure, and then a victory. Just because God has given us the blessing, doesn’t mean it’s going to be fulfilled right away. It’s going to take work, but it’s also going to be worth it. |
Prayer
Dear God, be with me in the valleys.
Reflection
How can you pursue the dreams that God has put on your heart in your current season?

Thank you. I have missed the daily devotionals this past week. They stopped coming this week. Please reinstate me.
I’ve sent you a confirmation email to get you resubscribed! Thank you!
Bobby, what a delight to wake up every morning and find your beautiful messages waiting for me. Not only do you write beautifully, but the thoughts you express are so profound and true, in my heart! At 82 it’s hard to find truth and beauty readily available, except in the Bible, old books and generally wise older people, but you give me hope in the younger generation, Bobby, you and your beautiful young wife’s Hanna. Thank you so very much for who you are and how you love, everybody so very much!!! From an old Grandma, who loves you too!!
From another grandma … I find God answers every need of mine, through the uniqueness of other believers’ revelation and insight.
You Pastor Bobby, are unique to me, in as much as you frequently make small comments that reveal little things that you experience in your own garden-walk with our Lord.
Only now, after walking in Christ for 40 years, do I find myself confronted with seemingly ‘flat’ times in our Lord’s presence. I look in my heart for a need and find nothing there. I look to Jesus to lead me along some particular learning pathway but we’re not going anywhere. I think of others’ needs and wait for inspiration to pray and no inspiration comes.
My previous response to these times when they came, was to force
my attention onto some particular scriptural Truth and learn – with great success I might add! But the older I get, the less I have of this kind of energy and I’m confused as to how to proceed. It can be scary too.
Then one day you said, “It’s okay to have empty spaces.” and I know now that this is a resting place in the garden. It’s okay to sit and rest. If our Lord is resting now, then I’m not going anywhere anyway, so I may just sit and rest with him until he’s ready to move again.
Thank you for being yourself. Being one’s self is the best, most freeing way to be and the most powerful gift of influence one sister or brother in Christ can give another. I wish there was more of it! Thank you Bobby
This comes at such a good time. I am retired and taking up painting for my hobby. I am progressing slowly. I try not to compare my pictures to others, but when I do, I get discouraged. Painting is in my Heart now and I enjoy it.
