“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
– Matthew 1:21
![]() Many of us have this sense of shame about something from our past. Maybe something that was done to you, but still you feel ashamed about it, and you feel like you’re never good enough. Or maybe there is a sin, or you hurt somebody in the past, and you think God can never use someone like you. Let me tell you: There is no saint without a past, and there is no sinner without a future. That is the truth. Many of us dwell on our past, and we think that our past is worse than everybody else’s. It is not. Everyone has a past, but the good news is that everyone has a future. God calls fisherman to get out of their boat and to walk on water. He can use imperfect people to do impossible things, and He loves to do that. |
Prayer
Thank you Lord, for not holding my past against me. You came to rescue me. Please help me to let go of the shames of my past. Give new life, and a bright future.
