As you read from right to left, the first letter of the word is “chet,” which makes an “h” sound and is a pictograph of a house, hut, or wall. Then there’s the letter “nun,” which, though it has changed through the years, is supposed to represent a fish, the main source of food for the Israelites. This letter is synonymous with nutrition or something that gives life. Take these two letters together and you can see that within the word “chen” is the idea that God provides both shelter and sustenance. In other words, walking in His favor means that He will protect and shield us while also taking care of and providing for us. 

My friend, you can walk in the fullness of the Lord’s favor when you focus on your inner life first.  When you seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, He will take care of everything else.  Your Savior will exceed your expectations and surround you with blessings that far surpass anything you could ever have imagined; the key is to keep the faith and devote yourself to developing your character.
