“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

– Matthew 11:27,28

Today, I want to share the best thing that has ever happened to me. Before I do, I want to express that I have many blessings in my life, including a wonderful wife, children, and extended family who love me unconditionally. I am also blessed to live in America and enjoy its freedoms and opportunities. All of these joyful gifts of God’s goodness are amazing but do not compare to the best thing that’s ever happened to me: The day someone invited me to follow Jesus Christ, and I chose to do so.

The best thing that can happen to a person is to know Christ. I would trade everything I have for my salvation in Christ. When you know Him, everything else in your life begins to change for the better! Most importantly, you have an assurance in your heart of your eternal destiny. You receive a new confidence in Christ and no longer have to carry any looming fear of death or aging. You become blessed to receive the promise of joy!

Friend, I want to encourage you to decide today to follow Christ. If you don’t already know Him, commit to inviting Christ into your life. For some, you may be indifferent about God, not religious, or not have spiritual beliefs, which is ok. If you are in the valley of indecision, that’s a very normal place to be. I was there. But I want to motivate you today to choose to follow Jesus, which will change your life for the best!

Prayer

Jesus, today I invite you to come into my life, and I accept you as my savior. Help me to change my life for the better.

Reflection

Did you know Jesus will bring you an assurance of your eternal destiny?
