“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
-Colossians 3:23
What some people don’t understand is that heaven is similar to earth, only redeemed. And I believe that when we get to heaven we’ll be working there, too. We’re going to be building and have other jobs to do. It’s going to be awesome. And that’s because work is good.
Work is good. Work is a privilege. When you get to build things, and do things, and get up in the morning, and put your hand to something, and see it grow, see something made, that’s a privilege. You’re actually doing what God does. You’re making. You’re creating. You’re constructing, and that’s what people were made to do. And it doesn’t matter if you’re quadriplegic. It doesn’t matter if you can’t move. The amazing thing about our world with its technologies, anyone can work if they want to. Anyone can. And God has good work for you.
I want you to know that, whatever your work is, if it is good and it is just, as long as you’re not breaking the law, God is pleased with your work. He’s proud of you. Keep working. Your work is a blessing to the Lord.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I offer to you the work I do each day. Whatever I do, I do for you. May my work bless you. Amen.
Reflection: How do you bless the Lord with your work?
