“Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.” -2 Corinthians 3:5

Sometimes we feel unworthy of God, don’t we? We feel guilty about our past, and maybe some people have shamed us along the way. Guilt isn’t actually such a bad thing, it helps you realize that you did something wrong and made a mistake. However, shame is the belief that you are someone wrong. You aren’t! Thankfully, we have the gospel. The gospel allows us to live by God’s power, not our power. When we aren’t good enough, God is. We are never going to have what we need to be like Jesus unless it comes from God. We don’t need to shame ourselves and tell ourselves we aren’t good enough, because, with God, we are good.

PRAYER: Dear God, thanks for making me good enough.

REFLECTION: Do you struggle with believing that you’re good enough for God?
