“Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name. Then the righteous will gather about me because of your goodness to me.”
– Psalms 142:7
![]() When you turn negatives into positives, you will see a great transformation. Your life will change when you stop asking for struggles to end and instead ask God to give you the skills you need to overcome it. A man in a wheelchair is asked how it feels to be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. He responds, “Confined by it? A wheelchair does not confine me. I feel liberated by it.” He goes on to say, “If I weren’t in this wheelchair, I would be stuck at home all day, but instead, I can go around and do things I want to do.” Some would look at a cane, walker, or a wheelchair and have contempt for it. However, not this man. It brings him liberation. As we live life with God, we are often presented with liberating opportunities. A man who is growing in wisdom and in life loses his job. When asked how it feels to lose your job, to get fired, he says, “I’m finally free to do the thing I was called to do. To start my business, to get a better job. I finally saw where I was falling short. I now have the skills and freedom to become who I’m called to be.” You see, it’s a different perspective when you’re working on yourself! Friend, we can ask God to give us a fresh perspective as we work through life’s challenges. We know that life gets better when we get better. Improvements come when you stop asking for life to be easier and start asking God for strength. Everything changes as you pray for God’s perspective and allow the Holy Spirit to work in you!

Tom,
It’s very easy to feel down in the dumps these days with all the negative news in the world piling on the personal difficultlies we all have.
Be positive. Don’t let what you can’t control rob you of yoour well being.
Tell the insurance agent that you need time to think about his proposals and if he keeps pestering you, tell him to get lost. Remind him there are dozens of places where you can get insurance without him.
Deal with you issues with a positive outlook and tackle them one at a time.
When you go to dinner with your sister, be very positive. Find cheery things to say, about how well she looks, how nice her place looks and feels, how good the food is, and other positive things as they come up.
Try to keep positive daily in the coming days and weeks. Don’t watch news and avoid negative thinking. You can be positive and overcome.
As today’s Positive Minute reminds us:
“We know that life gets better when we get better. Improvements come when you stop asking for life to be easier and start asking God for strength. Everything changes as you pray for God’s perspective and allow the Holy Spirit to work in you!”
Wisdom, from my experience, doesn’t happen over night. Positive practise will make you positive and you will come out the other end stronger. When you will look back over your temporary set backs, you will see how wisdom evolves.
Don’t give up. Stay positive. You can do it!
I’ve always received the daily devotions from Hour of Power until about a month ago, and they stopped coming. I have enrolled many times to no avail. If I remember, I can go the website and find it there, but I’m wondering why I no longer get it in my email.
I miss watching Hour of Power, too. I can only get it by way of the computer and now that is impossible also.
Well I do not welcome more struggles. Tom
