You Become What You Desire

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 37:3-4

I believe that you become what you desire. I do. Now, I hear you saying: “Bobby, I desire a hamburger.” Don’t take it too literally. But when you desire what is good, and you desire it with all your heart, you become a better person. I just believe that. Maybe you don’t know if the thing you desire is something good. But if it is not against the Bible, it is probably good. Sometimes you may think that things are too little … that they are not important. But the “little” things are also important. When you want to take a cooking class, for example, you might think it is not important. But things like that are also developing your character. And all of those things come together in the end, like puzzle pieces, to make you a better version of yourself in Christ Jesus.

Lord, thank you for the development in my life. Help me to desire and pursue good things, small or big, as they form the puzzle of my life in moving forward.
