“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 3:14
If you’re alive, you have a calling. Even if you only have a week left to live, you got divorced, or you lost your faith: You didn’t miss out on your calling. God’s always calling you to do something. It doesn’t matter how old, young, sick, poor, or uneducated you are: God will use you. There’s nothing more inspiring than seeing people at the end of their rope still learning, growing, and pursuing God’s best for others. Dennis Prager once told a story about how he used to visit hospice and would see people on their deathbeds encouraging one another, writing letters, and reading the newspaper. These people had a love for knowledge and although they only had a few days left, they were going to use them. If you’re alive, you’re alive for a reason. You have a calling. Use the time you have. Trust God, and let him call you.
PRAYER: Thank you, Lord, for this life. Thank you for the calling I receive just by being alive.
REFLECTION: What is currently your calling?
