A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.”

Proverbs 13:22

I believe that we ought to have a mission for the kind of life that we want to lead. No matter how young or old you are, think about your legacy. You’ll start planting the right kinds of seeds that will make a big difference in your life. A Greek proverb says: A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in. Right? How many of us are sitting in the shade of trees and say: Thanks mom, thanks dad, thanks grandma, thanks grandpa, thanks mentor, or thanks teacher. I want to be a person like that: Thankful for what others did for me, and planting seeds for the future, and for others. How about you? So always think about your legacy, your vision, your mission for your life, and you will stay on the straight and narrow path that leads to life. Keep your eyes on your true values. And don’t hurry —  just keep your eyes on the mountain. You’ll get there, at God’s pace. Amen?

Prayer

Lord, thank you for the seeds my loved ones planted for me. Help me to plant seeds for the future too. Help me to discover and live my mission.
