Your Super Bloom Awaits

“Again he said, ‘What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.’ ”

– Mark 4:30-32

Due to this year’s unusually wet winter, California experienced a wildflower super bloom. Hannah and I were hiking through a field and noticed amazing purple, red, and yellow blooms along with mustard seed plants in the distance. It reminded me of Jesus’ parable of the mustard seed in which He says of the Kingdom of God: “It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” A tiny seed will become a giant super bloom!

Hannah and I believe that the Lord has promised us that this would be a year for a super bloom. I hope it is the same for you. Did you know that wildfires improve soil? So, no matter how hard your past has been, no matter who has betrayed you, gossiped about you, lied or stolen from you, the seeds of God’s word you plant will bear fruit. Don’t let the past haunt you or shape your future.

Friend, when you keep sowing the seed of God’s word, you cannot limit how much you can grow. It’s about where you’re going, not where you’ve been. Where you’re heading is based on how many seeds are in the ground. You have the privilege to commit yourself to that word, devote yourself to it, water and care for it and show love to the seed of God’s word that’s planted in your heart!

Prayer

Father, bless your word to bear fruit as soon as it is planted.

Reflection

This year, do you believe God can bless you with a super bloom?
