“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
– Colossians 3:2
![]() Did you know that you become what you think about? Dr. Norman Vincent Peale once said, “If you want to change your world, change your thoughts.” This concept has impacted me so powerfully in my own day-to-day that I recently wrote a book about it. You see, I firmly believe that most of the things we are upset about in our lives can be rectified by simply learning to alter the way that we think. Whatever it is we don’t like about our current reality, whether our job, our relational status, or our financial situation, we gain authority to change it when we recognize that our thinking created it. In fact, it’s hardly right to complain about something if we insist on nurturing the thoughts that got us there! Friend, it makes no sense to war against where you are in life if you are married to the negative thinking that created your current status. This is why I urge you to not forget that your thoughts are perfectly designed to give you the results you see playing out right now. As much as you may fight the idea or be tempted to label it “hocus pocus,” if you want to change your life, you must change your thought patterns. Just as an athlete trains his body, you must train your mind into good thinking, which encompasses discipleship and meditating on the Word of God. Join me for the next few weeks as we engage on a journey of thought transformation. Take these things to heart, and I promise you that a better life and better future will unfold! |
