Life Without Lack

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,” – Psalm 23:1-2 As we begin our series on eternal living, the first thing that stands out to me is this: eternal living is a life without lack. This is the life that Jesus describes is made available to us in the Kingdom of God. Immediately, many of us think wealth equates to an expensive automobile or a big house. Can I tell you there are many people who have means, but have very little meaning? There are people of wealth who have all the things that everybody else desires, but they don’t contain any significance. The Goodness of God

“I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land. Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon.” – Lule 4:25,26 God is faithful and longsuffering; He never lets anyone’s wrong choices go unchallenged and He always provides ample opportunity to change course. This was certainly the case for Ahab, to whom He sent the prophet Elijah to confront his wickedness and remind him of another way.
